About the Webinar:

From a psychological perspective, research has found that trauma-related effects can be present in descendants of survivors across many contexts. Dr. Alexandra Rush will present a qualitative phenomenological study that was conducted to explore the transmission of traumatic effects, features of posttraumatic growth and resilience in the context of Poles who survived the Nazi and Soviet atrocities and their descendants across three generations.

About the Speaker:

Alexandra Rush, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Human Development at SUNY Empire. She previously taught at Dickinson College, PA, as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology. Prior to that, she taught psychology at Berkeley College, NJ for 10 years. Her aim is to inspire a love of learning and sense of purpose in her students and her teaching interests include abnormal psychology, human ecological systems, and child and adolescent development, to name a few. She collaborates with the Institute for Research on Youth Thriving and Evaluation at Montclair State University, NJ where she recently received her Ph.D. in Family Science and Human Development in 2021.
